Around 40,000 Canadian expatriates have made the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) their second home. The welcoming nature, lavish lifestyle, and
traditional yet innovative architecture of the country lure expatriates to
visit the UAE, whereas, the constantly emerging employment opportunities,
higher salaries, and tax free environment of the UAE force them to work and
reside here. The UAE and Canada shares friendly foreign relations, and that is
why the government of the UAE eliminated the need of visa prior their entry
into the country. An entry stamp will be provided to the Canadian citizens at
the UAE airports which will be valid for 30 days. Although, Canadian
expatriates planning to extend their stay due to employment or residence
purpose can extend their visa validity accordingly. Now if you are residing in
UAE from some time and are planning to call your family here, then firstly you
will have to attest their certain documents in order to acquire a residence
visa for them. You can easily avail Canadian
document attestation in Dubai and other cities of the UAE.
How to attest Canadian-originated documents from the UAE?
Any document seeking attestation can only be attested by the
governmental authorities of the issuing country, and no other country holds the
authority to attest a document originating in a foreign country. So for
attesting a Canadian-originated document from the UAE, firstly they will be
sent back to the Canada. In Canada, certain types of documents requires
notarization prior to the attestation, such as degree certificate. For
notarization, a document will bear official stamp and signature from a Notary
Public or lawyer. Thereupon, the certificate will be attested by the Department
of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT). The DFAIT will attach a
Certificate of Authentication with the document. Afterwards, the document will
be sent to the UAE Embassy in Ottawa, for attestation. The UAE Embassy attestation
is requisite on all documents that are going to be used in the UAE. The Embassy
will adjoin a Certificate of Legalization with the front page of your document.
At last, the documents will be sent back to the UAE for Ministry of
Foreign Affairs (MOFA) attestation.
